Pre-approved car financing certificate

I have a little less than a year left on my car payment.
Yesterday I get this certificate in the mail from my finance company
that says I've been pre-approved to lease or finance any new or Certified pre-owned vehicle
up to a payment of 15% of my monthly salary.

There isn't a snowball's chance in hell I'm buying a new car from them, but I though it was a pretty good plan to lure return customers/victims.

Anybody else get one of these?

I get these all the time even before we bought our first new car.

The timing is suspicious though since your car loan is almost paid off.

15% * $4000 = $600.

I'll bet that financing would be based completely on your income... but the interest rate would be based on your credit history.

How old are you.......?

I wasn't just a random mailing. I would have tossed that right away. It was from MY finance company, and thanked me for financing my current car.

my dad used to work at a ford dealership

said they loved getting people in with just a year or so left on their lease, it was easy to get such customers to rebuy when their lease was up so soon, though i dont remember why he said that was.
