I haven't decided on the board yet. I wanted to know if anyone considers the ICH5R and the CSA lan to be "must haves" due to lack of reliance on the PCI bus? I don't have a SATA drive yet but was thinking about connecting my WD 80 JB to one of the ICH5R SATA connectors via an adaptor such as the Serillel 2 (strongly considering the Abit IC-7G). Is there a performance advantage to doing this? Would there be any noticeable improvement in performance of a CSA based ethernet over a conventional one when all I'm doing is web and usenet surfing which includes mega downloading on usenet.
I'm waiting for the 865 boards to show up in full quantity along with the 2.4C through 2.8C processors thinking that prices should drop then. Plus, that should give more time for additional 875 models to hit the streets. Can't wait to see if the premium for an 875 is worth the extra money over an 865. Smart move by Intel to release the 875 first.
