Texas has been having a drought for a few years and the people there have been praying for rain. Now they're getting so much rain that it's causing damage. In Oklahoma it hasn't been very wet lately either and Oklahoma City has now had the wettest 40 days and 40 nights in their recorded history.

If prayers really got answered, they'd have regular moderate rain. I'm not sure a disastrous deluge counts as "prayers answered". That's the kind of smartass answer that deserves an ass whipping.

Neither Texas nor Oklahoma were in a drought. If you want to know what a drought looks like go to California.

And if the prayers of Oklahomans and Texans were being answered, Obama wouldn't be president and gay marriage wouldn't be allowed anywhere

This.

There are a number of people who have lost their lives, and even more who have lost their homes. This is not anyone's prayer getting answered, and it's rather crude to state otherwise.

Over 350 homes lost in one of the hardest-hit areas here (Blanco/Wimberly, TX). Water levels rose 26' in an hour in some areas, and one of the rivers (? I forget) is 41' above normal - the previous record was 33', and that was in 1929.

Here's an album with a few pics collected from around the net. I live near downtown Austin, and hearing shit getting thrown around and banging into things as your power periodically cuts off is no fucking joke.

Lol @ the guy who says we weren't in a drought. "Our drought is bigger than yours, therefore yours means nothing"

Im in OK, I'm not talking about my drought vs your drought. I'm talking about a dry season or two vs a real freaking drought.

Compare Texas a year ago to CA. Not even close, in percentages nor people affected, since the majority of Texas drought is in the panhandle which has about 14 people.

If prayers really got answered it would stop raining and beautiful short women would appear everywhere carrying steaks.

If prayers really got answered it would rain 24/7 and beautiful naked women would carry steaks around on silver platters and you would all be my slaves.

The latter will come to pass regardless of prayers though. See you in the future...
