No doubt. Especially brakes.

Cars are not the place to be pranking people.

If they are parked then they are fair game. I worked with a couple of brothers who are good friends of mine from my childhood. We also liked to go to the Indian reservation and stock up on fireworks to destroy things with. One day at work while in the parking lot during break one of the brothers tossed an M80 close behind me, scaring the crap out of me. I got my revenge by taking an empty M80 case with the fuse still in it to work with me. I used to combine M80's for a bigger kick and had empties on hand to play with. When I pulled into the lot at work the brothers were sitting in their car so I nosed into the spot in front of them. I shut off the car, waved at them, then waved the empty M80 at them to get their attention, lit the fuse and tossed it onto their windshield, where it came to rest on the drivers side wiper blade.

The look on their faces as that fuse burned down was absolutely priceless. They both decided to duck and had to sit back up when nothing happened and everyone around was choking with laughter. Dane (the brother who owned the car) thought for sure his windshield was gone...lol!

They didn't screw with me again after that.

Brakes still worked fine. They just used the brake light switch to trigger the horn relay.

Yeah, the brakes worked fine this time. Fucking with things can have unintended consequences, though.

Don't alter critical safety systems for a prank.

And you confidently threw it, knowing that it would on an area of the car with the wick positioned such that it wasn't going to damage the paint??

The horn prank would be even funnier with a remote control.

Actually, his car was a rusty brown beater 1964 Olds 4 door that he had painted "Lost Creek Beaver Patrol" on the doors, like a cop car. He thrashed that thing like it was a rented mule. An M80 going off on it probably would have improved it. Besides, as I said above we are all good friends (and still are) who grew up together. They just forgot that I have a wicked sense of humor when it comes to revenge.

I reminded them.
