My friend's house has been the subject of probably some kids pranks for a while now, eggs, fireworks, and paint and such. They do it at night, and their house has no lighting at far range, no street lights either. So they can never be seen, and by the time they can rush to the window to see, the kids are gone. Anyone know what can be done about them?

try using light with sensors! (like those flood lights you see on your local hardware stores)

just stake out the night, like a night you're expecting them. when you catch them, beat the sh*t out of them. pretty simple isn't it? what else can you do?

I second this motion.

Besides, you get to hone your spy skills.

Yep. 3 or 4 of those in a box with an extension cord, laid out along likely paths of approach. An audible alarm connected to one would be a nice touch.

Then an inner ldefensive perimeter of whatever seems practical. A blind to hide ina catch the little fvck would be sweet. Nothing like some home video played for the local constabulatory to make a point. A copy for Mom and Dad would be a nice touch.

Bah, your friend probably deserves it. Tell him to install some flood lights.

umm wait outside with a paintball gun, they come, u shoot them... works well... if no paintball guns are availabe BBguns and hunting rifles can be substituted.

That's what I did. When I was in college some punk kids were doing the same stuff in my parents neighborhood. Nothing too destructive, mostly eggs, some keying of cars, but no paint or broken windows. It happened every weekend, so one weekend I brought home 2 full carloads of guys from my dorm and we staked out the entire neighborhood using walkie-talkies. 4 high school kids, 16 or 17 come wandering by and hit a house about 2 blocks away, so we found out what direction they were moving in and got in front of them and waited in an old boyhood friends yards as they were coming our way. Beat the living s**t out of all 4, grabbed their wallets and got their addresses. Then we drove them home and let them know that we now knew exactly where they lived and that they were going to be the neighborhood guardians from that moment forward because if ANYTHING happened in that area they were going to get blamed and we knew how to find them. The trouble stopped. When in doubt, vigilante justice works pretty damn well.

Hard to argue with that. Just get one of those and some harmless blanks, scare the crap out of 'em.

Hehe, at near point blank too

Did you take their money and use it for beer and pizza? That would be icing on the cake.

camp with some highly upgraded airsoft guns/paintball guns and wait for them to show up, once they do, flood the area with light and shoot the fvck out of them

You need something like this . Combination of PIR security light with a wireless alarm chime that sounds indoors to let you know when something's going on.
