Ok I am going to plead ignorance to due to my old age of 46 this coming August. Today my coworker was telling me that he received voice message on his cell from a # in Florida. The message said that this is seven day child in a creepy voice like something from the Exorcist. When he called the number back, somebody answered the phone talking in gibberish in a trance like voice. He said the whole think kind of creeped him out while he considered it a weird prank.
When we ran the # through Google. I was listed on caller complaint board with many posts about different types of calls but none of them related to this type of prank call. Now is there some way people are spoofing caller ID and using a certain subset of numbers. Is this some sort of new fad kids are doing these days or did he receive a message from some sick satanic wanna be. Any insight please.

Tell your coworker to check his phone bill to see if any new charges were applied as a result of his returning the call.

I think a couple of movies have done something like that - you give them the number & an automated call like that goes out - some sort of publicity stunt perhaps in the OP's case.
