Note (January 26, 2012): Some people have complained that this site has been sending them texts. If you're one of them, then someone else might be playing a prank on you. This Cat Facts page does not gather people's emails or phone numbers and has no technology capable of sending out messages. Sorry, there is nothing we can do to help since we aren't the ones sending the messages.

I don't see "the website" listed in that entire exchange.

This. It's only fun if they're given a way out after a certain time period. Otherwise just a pure dick move.

And my texts are $0.15 each. Any fucker pulls this prank on me is getting billed.

Why not just call your provider and have them block texts? After getting some actual ads I had to pay for, I did that and people were DENIED. People I know ask me if I got their text... I say no motherfucker, I refuse to pay for instant messaging.

This was created (as far as I know) by Reddit. They were doing it manually though. Some have recently written scripts to automate this process if you want to pull a prank, this is taking it to a new level though. I hope there is a way to unsubscribe from this site when the prank is over... and I hope you trust whoever you are giving that phone number to.

Personally, I think doing it manually is the furthest I'd take this prank, as it is funny for a day or two. After that, not so mcuh.

Yeah, I saw the above on Reddit and the guy was doing this manually. But it's amazing to see how quickly this took off. I especially like that within a few days of appearing, catfacts.com put up a disclaimer on their website saying that they were not associated with any texting. :awe:

Surprised this site is still up. There are regulations against spam text msgs. Need double opt in, so phone would have to confirm the opt in. Maybe not?

That's great. I already submitted a few peoples phone numbers.
I'm such an asshole.

I too, wish I knew my old IT manager cell number.

You guys are doing it wrong. It's a fake website, and YOU are supposed to send the person the texts from a number they don't know. Example A (with my buddy who's an idiot):

It's f'n brilliant.

edit: and btw, when they block your number, you just go use a different google voice account.
