There are often threads about how much x internet company sucks, but how many people are actually happy with their internet?

I have been living in the same apartment for three and a half years, and the entire time here I have had Time Warner's Roadrunner service, and I absolutely love it. I have had maybe two outages total that lasted for maybe ten minutes, and I have had a few months where I torrented hundreds of gigs of stuff, and they don't even bat an eye. I know it's not impressive, but I also download game updates on Steam at 1.5megs/s, which I like quite a bit.

Granted, I don't have their cable service, so I can't vouch for it at all, but for $40 a month I really like the internet they have provided me. I used to use Cox at my old place, and it was god damn shit ass terrible...

Extremely happy with mine. It's a small, local company with very fast and cheap internet (great TV service too).

I'm with Shaw - one of the major Canadian ISPs, and I have regular high-speed (7.5mb/s?) plus extended cable, bundled.

Comes to about $100/month which is more expensive than a lot of other providers, but it's fast, extremely reliable, and their customer service is outstanding, which is a rare thing these days.

TBH i cant really say anything bad about Time Warner, at some point in the past i averaged 100gigs down a month for a 12 month period

they didn't seem to care

I have evil Comcast as my ISP. My roommate got us the high-speed option at the same price as the mid-range option when he threatened that he'd drop the service because they were ending our promo price period.

I think we've only had one outage in 2 years and that was only for 10 minutes or so.

Same experience with me. We also have their phone bundle and it all works great. Shaw's customer service beats Telus hands down.

Qwest DSL. Not the fastest, but it's cheaper than Comcast by a healthy amount and I've never had an outage. I did have some billing problems when I moved that bordered on serious, but even then, never any trouble with the service itself.

Teksavvy here. They seem pretty good I guess, not great. They are ok with bandwidth caps (200GB), and don't charge much more for unlimited, but I'm not in charge of the internet here. They throttle my torrents though, just like my last one. At 4:30 they are capped at 50kb/s, at 6:00 they are capped at 25.

I am getting ready to switch from Comcast broadband to Qwest DSL. I hope that I'm not making a mistake, but I've had it with their cable service and I'm going to DirectTV.

Verizon FIOS 25/15. I get those speeds and even a bit more at times and no problems.

Now that I have FiOS I'm very happy. Infinitely more reliable and infinitely faster for the same price. I had Time Warner and hated it.

I have Telus ADSL. I had Shaw before but I found that they sucked balls and then switched. Price is OK; but service is 100 times better.

Congratulations for proving why there are only complaint threads about internet service providers.
I have Time Warner's Roadrunner service for $35/month for 15Mb down/3Mb up. So I pay less and have 10x your speed.

but if you are happy ...

There have been a few hiccups but all in all I'm happy with wave broadband, hell I even get free basic cable because its not worth their time to disconnect it.

He has a 15 megabit service. 1.5 megabytes/sec is about 15 megabits/sec.

wow, you really failed in that post...hard. your 15MB = 1.5MB/s or 1.5"megs" as OP stated.

I love my comcast, hasn't gone down since I "beta" tested it for them early last year...I have the 50MB/20MB service.

I'm pretty satisfied with my AT&T DSL. I wish the top speed was available in my area, but my service has never been down in 4 years, has no cap, and isn't throttled when torrenting.

Is that with a bundle discount? In my area, Comcast is much faster than Qwest and costs the same when bundled with cable TV, but if you get Comcast internet alone it's about $13/mo more than Qwest. Faster but not worth the extra price for me.

Since they got bought out by a bigger company and pretty everybody who worked for the original company got fired, service has improved dramatically.
