Is there any cheap and cheerful way of getting hold of one of these devices, or perhaps building one?
If I were to build one, Are there any low-ish cost COFDM encoder ICs, which are easily available? and then what do I do with the output, as clearly you don't get RF out of the encoder? Does the signal need AM modulation or a frequency convertor (mixer) to generate the RF?
Just idly thinking about setting up a pir8 radio station multiplex - I doubt it's practical, but it might be a fun project. And it'll probably sound better than the commercial radio stations - I mean come on guys, 128 kpbs MP2 is not better than FM.
