PPTP vs IPsec

I hear that PPTP is easier to use (especially if you have Windows machines that VPN in) but IPsec is more secure.

Anyone know more about this?

I already have an IPsec branch to branch mesh going and it works great, but I am having a hard time getting mobile users to connect to the VPN.

So, I started looking at PPTP (PoPToP) and reading comparisons on the two...

So far, PPTP with MSCHAPv2 is supposed to be reasonably secure but 'experts' say that IPsec has more security despite flaws caused by its shear complexity.

Can anyone shed some more light? thanks.

theyll be windows clients connecting to a FreeBSD VPN gateway.

Im curious about pptp vs ipsec on the levels of encryption strength, bugs/vulnerabilities in the daemons themselves, and performance across a WAN.

thanks
