I've had it running for a couple days, working perfectly and suddenly at the changover from the 17th to the 18th, it's now all zeros and has stopped updating. I didn't change a thing.

I've run the script multiple times with -debug, and it's not showing any errors at all.

Any ideas? Thanks.

Hi Russ,

You're really fighting this pProxy and Stats setup aren't you? :(

So, you have no error messages, even when you run with -debug. That's a good one. I take it the pProxy is still writing out the log files correctly?

Two,

NT is for wussies.:D

Dougal,

Weirdness. Came in this morning and it's working fine. Maybe it takes a while when changing over to a new day?

NT is a blessing for the people of earth. Such job opportunities and wealth given just because one knows the difference between share permissions and NTFS permissions :) .. ok plus maybe few other things too :)

Postman the happy postal NT admin.

Okay, I figured out the problem with the stats update and applied a temporary solution. It occured to me that it might be related to time somehow, so I checked the pproxy log files. Sure enough, they were reading 7 hours earlier than actual (Pacific). Checking xclock, I verified that the box (Linux) was giving the time wrong.

So, ppstats, while changing over days correctly at 23:59 UTC and zeroing out the totals, was reading the local time for daily update purposes, and not updating till the local clock said 23:59.

Temporarily, I've solved the problem by setting the BIOS forward 7 hours, now Linux displays the correct time, and ppstats updates as it should. It'll be interesting, though, to see if it rolls over correctly at 23:59 UTC tommorow.

When I did the install, I set it to Pacific, and at bootup it reads Pacific, so I'm at a loss as to why it's seven hours off.

Any of you Linux guru's have a clue? Thanks.

Hi Russ,

Glad you got it sorted. Webmin is really cool isn't it. I use it all the time on the Linux box I run in the lab here. It runs DNS, mail, and a few other bits and bobs for the lab and it's so easy to set things up for Linux newbies like me.
