PProxy Log Analyzer... Any recommendations?

I'm needing a PProxy log analyzer that's capable of reporting both RC5 and OGR info. Preferably one that would run from Win 9X/NT without any special database stuff or other software.

I don't really need any fancy HTML generation or other stuff although it might be interesting.. :)

Which one(s) are other folks using and why?

I know precious little about perl, but even so I've been figuring out how to use ppstats. It's the best there is from what I've seen. All you need to run ppstats on NT is a recent build of perl which you can get for free from http://www.activestate.com and a copy of gnuplot. I don't recall exactly where I got my copy of Win32 gnuplot from, if you want it let me know and I can send it.

Between that and Brad's excellent log compression scripts and proxy status updater, TA is turning into one lean mean RC5 cracking machine. :D

Thanks Bober & Russ, :)

I think if I get truly adventurous then I'll give ppstats a whirl (I know I have at least one good perl book in the 'ole collection). The only major impediment to all of this is that my primary machine at the office is a laptop and consequently is running on Win98. :( I don't have ready access to a machine running NT (i.e. I have plenty of them, but they're all on other folks desks) :p

Any idea if any of this can work from 98 or am I "up the digital creek without a parser"? ;)

You can also use PRoxyMon. You can find it listed on Distributed.net's download section under Download Addons. I'm not sure if it does OGR though.

Jator,

That's the one that I've been using for the last month or so. 2 problems... 1. not only does it not work with OGR, but as soon as it tries to load an OGR key log it locks up and cannot even be reconfigured to ignore OGR (unless I want to go diddling in the registry to "undo" the setting that's causing it to look for OGR key logs) and 2. I emailed the author and he said he's no longer supporting it and it planning on taking the page down and ceasing to even distributed it. (he did offer to send me the source, but I don't have VB6 so it wouldn't do me a lot of good :p )

Sigh.... I'll just keep trying. :(

Thanks for the suggestion anyhow.

Thunder, Perl runs on Win9x as well as on WinNT. Same place BoberFett mentioned.

Schweeeet. :)

I'll give it a whirl and see if I can't get the pages to pop up to my isp's web space in the interim 'til I have my server configured. :)

Thanks for all the info folks! :D
