Hi all,

Anyone here managed to setup PPPoE with the Linux 2.4.x kernel (whatever distro that has kernel 2.4 in it)? I'm gonna get a ADSL connection soon and thinking of setting up a small Linux box as the firewall.

TIA.

No problems at all,
pppoeconf/pppoe is included by default in Debian.
What you'll need thought is kernel with ppp/netfilter support, either add modules during install or make your own (2 option is beter imo).

I've actually seen that site. Just wondering if it's easy/possible to setup/install PPPoE in 2.4. Thanks BTW :)

very easy to set up, there's a short document on that page called HOW-TO-CONNECT

Roaringpenguin....isnt that what Mandrake9.0 installs by default when one sets up ADSL connection??

Wait a minute...am I not using Mandrake? Oh no! I switched to Debian (woody) a month ago. But then can I go online? Well...I already am :)
