Is this the only way to make a 2600 series router do pppoe by placing a ADSL WIC card? I have a 2621 router. Thanks

wow a 2600-series router for a home setup... 🙂

umm... actually, I'd think you could plug the broadband modem into one ethernet port and run your network out of the other port... the same way that most broadband routers work.

I think the PPPoE setting is supported under IOS w/o the need of an ADSL card.

you check the cisco site?

Here is the output from a 3620 running enterprise IOS 12.2T1 image.

cisco(config-if)#pppoe enable ?
<cr>

cisco(config-if)#pppoe-c
cisco(config-if)#pppoe-client ?
dial-pool-number dialer pool keyword

cisco(config-if)#

I'm not sure if it's supported on 2600's try the commands and see.

The interface these commands were available on was fast ethernet.

I'll give the command a try when I get home, thanks guys. Most likely a IOS upgrade ,but I check out cisco pppoe documentation mostly refer to the ADSL card. I'll get back with you.

Found the answer I need, a IOS upgrade IOS 12.2T will work. Thanks everyone who helped. Anybody have or want to sell the IOS 12.2T, for a 2621 route, thanks again.
