PPPOE not connecting

Hello All,
I have been using sbc att dsl for last 3 years through d link 624 wireless g router for wifi at home. All of a sudden a few days ago while I could connect to my wifi network none of the web pages would load up. I checked all cable/ filters and everything looked good. Then I called att support who had me reset their 2 wire 1070 B modem and run a hardwire in to my computer. Post reset I was able to get online directly running a network cable from the 2 wire modem to the computer. Att support could not help me with D link so I tried resetting all the info on the d link page myself and being a dsl connection chose the PPPOE option entered all the info from att incl log in name/password etc. Even after all this PPPOE still did not connect. I then thought may be its the d link router. So I bought a new trendnet wifi n router but facing the same problem with the new router as well. Please help.

Your 2wire is actually going to do the PPPoE. The 2wire is not simply a modem, but rather a modem and router combo, and there's no way to turn off the router portion. To avoid a double-NAT when using a 2wire, you need to enable DMZ+ mode to your D-Link router and it should be set to DHCP regardless.

If your Modem is actually a modem/Router the Wireless Router has to be configured like this.

Jack thanks for taking the time here. I just want some further clarification not a techi by any means here. On the link above its says first step plug a single comp to the "2nd router" in my case will the 2nd router be the wireless router I am trying to hook up? Then it says make sure that the computer is configured to obtain DHCP automatically from Router- how would I go about configuring the computer? will it be a setting I will change in 2 wire which will = to computer settings in this case?

In most cases the TCP/IP is set to Auto Obtain by default and it would work with the two Routers.
