PPPoE and Multiplayer Games

Hey all, I'm switching DSL carriers and the new one has PPPoE rather than the static IP my current one has. I'm going to be having my network running through a router (SMC Barricade) which supposedly supports PPPoE. My question is, are there any problems with PPPoE and MP games? I don't know too much about how PPPoE works, but I hear that it assigns an IP to you when you connect, and that the IP can change. Will the IP change even if I am using a router? Can the IP change during the middle of an online game, and will that disconnect me from the game?

Thanks!

I'm on Verizon Infospeed DSL and before I got my netgear router my ping times were around 100ms on UT. Now with the new router I get into the 50-70ms range. I think the cpu overhead from the RASPPPOE software was the cause of the slower pings. Since your router supports PPPOE you shouldn't really have to worry about bad pings unless your ISP stinks.
