Ppl with camcorders HELP ME PICK!

I have a choice betwen these two bad boys.


And im wondering is the mini dv worth it over the hi8?

The sony has a 20x optical and 990x digital zoom compared to canons 22x optical and 440x zoom.

Witch zoom is better?

Any sugestions would be great.

Canon's optics are much better than Sony's....but Sony does better in darker areas for filming. I would go for a better Optical zoom each and every time instead of Digital zoom. Digital zoom is useless almost.

my big disapointment is that the canon lacks a infrared nightshop mode 🙁


but it is much smaller.
