PPGA Celeron VID pins and adjustment

And how to adjust it?
Ok I know I can get the VID pin layouts at the Intel site (I've seen the PIII and Celeron 2 layouts) and I assume that those pins must be in the same spot on a PPGA chip :D

Buttttt, I'm confused about what the meaning of GROUND and OPEN is.
I need to change the voltage on a PPGA celeron (default: 2.0v). If I look at the spec that says say, for example, that to achieve 2.0v you must have VID1 ground, VID2 open, VID3 ground, VID4 open, does that mean that VID1 and VID3 are connected to the VSS pin? So, if I want to achieve 2.2v, and it requires that VID1 ground, VID2 ground, VID3 ground, and VID4 open, the ONLY adjustment I need to make it to connect VID2 to VSS?
The above VID statements are just as examples, not the actual settings....those I will need to look up. <B>

Yes, you are correct. When the spec sheet says open it means that it isn't connected to the Vss. To unconnect a pin you can use clear nail polish and a toothpick to insulate it. To ground the extra pins just connect them to a nearby connected pin using a strand of copper wire.

Thanks, I took a look at the datasheet and thats what I figured from it. About the wire tho, MUST it be copper? I tried aluminum in a figure 8 around VSS and VID0 but the motherboard did not register any change.

It doesn't has to be copper, just conductive. If there was no change re-do it and make sure it is tight and snug. It's probably not making a conection if you get no change.

Ok thanks! Its either that or the monitoring does not work, because it never shows any voltage fluctuation anyhow. I certainly hope it didn't work though, because I'm going for the max which looks to be only 2.1v possible, and if it did work already that means that the celeron 366 that I'm trying to hit 550 with will not be seeing a stable 550 :( Right now I can do anything except run a CPU intensive burn in program for too long or play some game for too long.
