ppalling Negligence: Decade-Old Windows XPe Holes Led to Home Depot Hack

Thanks so much for posting this! I only have 1 CC that I use to get ~15/month in bonus dollars and am canceling it today! If anyone does not read the entire article it seems that is the only sure way to avoid having someone else use your card # is to cancel it and use cash.
I wish this was posted in Politics/News so I could post what I really think about the media coverage concerning this vrs. what is in the headlines.

My personal choice is to only use a card when absolutely necessary. I always use cash in restaurants. Above all, don't use a card on Wi-Fi.

I just keep an eye on my statements. Been using cards online for, what, almost 20 years now? Haven't ever had problem with stolen credit info/fraud. I know it happens, but like everything else these days, there's a lot of FUD out there...

It is indeed appalling, however little surprising, that in this day and age, businesses don't take more proactive measures to prevent this kind of massive breach - especially big/huge corps that obviously have the resources, if apparently not the will, to do so...
