What kind of amperage would be needed on the +12v for the 8800 series, and how much wattage would be needed. Anyparticular powersupply anyone would recomend? I would want one thats modular.

However if my current truepower 430w would suffice (26a on +12v) then I could save a few bones.

Sadly this is gonna be a fairly expensive upgrade, new mobo and new PS and new vid card.

/sigh

im not looking forward to my visa statement.

we'll see. from what i heard, this card itseld could easily take 200W. it's a monster. i suggest you wait a little until there is more experience in the market with this monster of a card. all though any high wattage (i'd say atleast 600) should be able to handle it. i just hope that if Intel buys Nvidia, they'll knock some power saving sense into their products.

I am more concerened with the amperage than the wattage.

Say for example if a 450W generic PSU with 20a was required, then surely a higher quality 430W PSU with 26a would be sufficient.

I gues it is probably better to wait and see what actual requirements are, but the enermax liberty looks mighty nice.

Yes, No?

Go with the Liberty or Enhance ENP, they will be able to handle a single DX10 card.

I havent seen what the amp draw is yet on the G80 but any good quality 450w should handle it but probably ideal to step up to a 500w since they tend to have more amps on their 12v rails.

Skott, they are saying around 300W, depending on what card. 500W should be safe for one card.
