PowerStrip

Hey guys,

I found out about PowerStrip from Maximum PC and i'm not sure if it is working for me or not. It loads up with the right Video Card (GeForce4 MX440) But I can overclock it to the MAX. All of the people I have seen who have overclocked their vid cards never reach the maximum like I do. I was just wondering if it isnt working for me or somthing.

My card is - GeForce4 MX440 w/8X AGP

It is possible that you have a fantastic card, but it is more likely that as you suspect PowerStrip is not overclocking your graphics card.

Google the word coolbits and download a registry file, that should enable overclocking in your graphics properties (no need for powerstrip). Before you do that I'd try updating the drivers for the graphics card (get them from nvidia's site), then reinstall/re-run powerstrip and see if you notice any difference.

If that still doesn't seem to work, download 3dmark from futuremark.com and run it without the overclock, then with and see if your system is much faster. If it is, then I guess you got lucky. Have fun.
