I just started using Power strip. When I lock the refresh and overclock my card sometimes the settings are like this.
I set the refresh to be locked at 85, but after its set powerstrip shows it as 84.

same with my video card. if the core is at 200 it might show 199.98 after it sets it.

is this normal?

also I can play Quake 3 or Jedi Knight 2 all day with my overclocked settings, but when I fire up Unreal Tourn it locks up. Does UT not work with an overclocked video card?

Quake3 and Jedi Knight are Opengl games. UT is direct3d. Try reinstalling DirectX 8.1.

The clock speed of the video card, the resolution, the color depth, and the refresh rate are all related through an equation which I don't feel like dredging up at the moment. I presume that Powerstrip is fudging the numbers slightly to make everything work out properly. So, normal.

Have you tried clocking down the speed a bit and seeing if that helps? Perhaps Direct3D is working your card harder than OpenGL, and won't perform at the same speed. And then there are a bunch of D3D options in the card properties and in Powerstrip. Some of those may help, but I don't know enough to say which.
