Powerstrip Question! Please READ

I use the newest version of powerstrip with windows XP and a tnt2ultra. I like to run the resolution of 1440x1080, because 1280x1024 is too little desktop room and 1600x1200 is too small to read for me (19" monitor).

With the nvidia 21.83 drivers, i can set this custom resolution fine using powerstrip, yet with the 23.11 i cannot. I have found this to be the case more than once in dealing with different sets of drivers. What causes this and why can i set custom resolutions in some versions but not others.

Is there a fix or any other way that i could run 1440x1080(75hz)?

TIA

I have almost the same exact problems. Anyone know where I can find older TNT2U drivers for WinXP?

Nevermind, found the driver archive on Nvidia.com and got the problem fixed. Love my 1400x1050!

WELLLLLLLLLLLLL................................ (heh heh)

you COULD go to windows/.inf/nvagp.ini and double click to open it
you COULD scroll down to a little past mid way and see nv4modes.addreg (not NV5 or 3)
you COULD note 8/16/32 bit color divisions in list
you COULD add the necessary TWO lines to impose your resolution (75HZ only please)(reboot)
and.........
you COULD blow your monitor if it doesnt support it.

Is there a place where i could read more about how to do this?

First of all, there is no nvagp.ini (windows xp v21.83 drivers)

in nv4.inf though, there are lines such as
HKR,, NV5_Modes, %REG_SZ_APPEND%, "8 1280 1024 60 70 72 75 85 100 120 0"
i assume i could try to add one of those?

be careful, NV5 is the new NV25 not out yet

Edit: and you picked 8 bit color example - not relevant to you
and you MUST add two lines of info per res
HKR,"MODES\8\1280,1024",,,"60,70,72,75,85,100,120"
HKR,"MODES\8\1280,1024",ModeRefreshRateList,,"60,70,72,75,85,100,120"

next to nv5 it says (TNT2) and next to nv4 it says (TNT) so why would they be the new ones?

Also, i understand how to set the default refresh rates, but can i add resolutions in there as well or will that not work?
