Wow, 30" is getting to be a decent size...Id love one of these as a bedroom TV.

There's something wierd about a 15:9 aspect ratio; normal wide displays are 16:9.

Actually, at first I thought the same thing. However, upon further reflection, I think that it's just fine. 1280x768 is precisely a 15:9 ratio, so the pixels are square. When showing something that is 16x9, you'll have 24 pixels of black on the top and the bottom, but you'll have a perfect, unscaled 720p (1280x720) picture. (Many movies are 2.35:1 anyway, so you're used to having some black bars on the top and bottom of a widescreen picture, even with a true 16:9 AR).

As a PC monitor, 1280x768 is actually an "official," resolution... if I'm not mistaken it's WXGA (?).

Anyhow, the one's I've seen on display at Microcenter have looked quite nice.
