PowerShot A80??

Whoa...I was thinking about getting a new digicam and started wondering when 4 megapixels would make it down to Canon's venerable A-series...thought an A80 would be nice and lo and behold, they have built it!!!

Any news/reviews/prices on this camera? Will it be equivalent in quality to the Canon S400??? Me likes the swivel LCD!! 😀

Oh, wow, nice...i wish I would have waited and purchased this one now instead of the G2 🙁 Hmm, did it mention the price anywhere by any chance?

Oooh, A80... hrmm or cheaper A70... photographic n00b... currently... but... thinking... about... future... can't... decide... argfhghghg

I have an A40. I really like it's quality, but my next digicam will be something alot smaller/thinner. It's hard to carry one of those A series around in your pocket while site seeing or in amusement parks.

A80 !! holycrap that was fast. I remember buying my A40 last year. I also have a G2 and a G3. I Can see why the "A" series took off it is an excellent Camera.

Well the A70 was a lot smaller/lighter than the A40...very slim except for the battery compartment (but I like that bulky end because it gives good grip.) The A80 is somewhere in between the two, but closer in size to the A70.

It's not really the weight I have issues with, it's the thickness. I would love to slip the camera into my pocket without having a "happy to see you" looking bulge
