well, look at the title of this thread.

GUESS WHAT I DID TODAY!

>_<

well, anyways, I have an 8rda+, and that board has a power-on password (not to be confused with the BIOS password). if its set, the only way to turn on the computer is via typing the password medium-fast on the keyboard (too fast and it doesnt register, apparently). power button no work, the usual hotkeys for power-on don't work (ctrl+f1 is default, but f1 - f12 can all be chosen). only the password

so, I forgot it. >_<

tried clearing the CMOS. no work. Epox techies said the CMOS probably wasn't being cleared properly.

SO, I disconnect the ATX mobo connector, take out the CMOS battery, unplug the PSU, flick the switch on it to "open" (a.k.a. "off", for you unelectricallyinclined people), and set the JCMOS jumper to 2-3 (clear CMOS). also, I depress the power button for a combined total of probably around 40-60 seconds.

I leave it sitting like that for an hour.

come back, try turning it on.

no beans.

anyone know how to get past the poweron password?

its an Award BIOS (unless I'm remembering wrong, 8rda+ owner plz come foward and say so if I am or if I am not), if that helps any,
