Got a tp link tlWPA4220kit and installed. It does wifi fine but i really want to use it for a Ethernet connection. It works fine with my friends laptop my does not work on my pc. I have a as-rock 990fx extreme motherboard with on-board Ethernet. Is this the problem. By the way my friends laptop is a hp compaq 8510w. thanks

I don't think it would be the desktop's LAN card. Those power line things are hit and miss I have heard. Do you get a DHCP address at all on the desktop?

^ Command prompt, type "ipconfig /all" <enter> and see if the IP assigned to it is in a range the same as the rest of the lan and using your router or modem IP as the gateway and DHCP server..
