Powering two fans and SATA from motherboard fan connector

I have one free 3-pin fan connector on the motherboard, two 3-pin fans, and a nearby SATA optical drive. I'm trying to avoid running extra cables from the modular power supply. I dug up a 3-pin-to-molex adapter and a molex-to-SATA adapter. Is there any reason I shouldn't use the motherboard fan connector to power both fans and the optical drive? I'm not concerned about the fans since splitters are often used to power more than one fan. I'm just not sure about powering the drive from the fan connector.

Do you feel lucky?

If it was me I wouldn't take the chance of frying the MB port or even the whole MB.

That's what I was thinking. I'll power the SATA separately and maybe Y/split the fans together. Thanks.

i dont think i would be bothered by 2 Gentle typhoons on 1 header.

Hell, they pull so little voltage, it wouldnt be a concern.

Now 2 san aces which have a load of .52Amps each?
:X

id have to be brave to try that... or it better be one of my beef'd up boards meant to take that much amperage on the cpu header.
