Powering an Ultra

OK, I have read that it is best to use 2 seperate lines to power the Ultra. How do I determine which are unused? Is there something inside the power supply I should check? Or should I just use lines that have nothing connected to them already? I only have 1 HDD and 1 CDRW-DVDROM combo drive, I run these on one line with 2 molex plugs on it. I have at least 2 lines with nothing connected to them, should I just use one molex from each of these to power the Ultra?

Yeah, I can't wait for it to get here. It's gonna be bottlenecked for a while on a Barton 2800 with 512MB of generic RAM.. but my 64 3500+ Winchester is on the way, and should have the Neo2 and OCZ3200 coming sometime soon.

Some PSU's offer dedicated separate lines for graphics card, like mine does. Both of the lines are shielded very nicely and are ready to be plugged in once my graphics card arrives. 🙂

yeah, i have that same p/s. awesome with the dedicated/shielded feeds and sata support. absolutely no power fluctuations while o/c'g with three hd's and four optical drives. only thing is i now have to change all my blue case fans to green 😉

Can you reccomend which PSU you are talking about? And hopefully not one that costs 100 bucks 🙂

Edit: Nevermind I see that OCZ520 in your sig now!

Unfortunately, OCZ PowerStream 520W is not available for less than 100 bucks. It cost me 150 Euro, which is around 155 - 160 American dollars. 😛 But you DO get the best bang for your money. 🙂
