I've been looking for the best way to charge my iPod with my laptop. I've just purchased a PCMCIA firewire card which I believed had a 12 DC input, but it doesn't! I'm considering trying solution 2, connecting the iPod to one port on the PCMCIA card and connect a 6-pin to 6-pin firewire cable from my iPod mains adapter to the other firewire port on the PCMCIA card. I'm just a little concerned about connecting a mains adapter into a firewire port. Should I be? Is this likely to screw my laptop over?
