powerful XP file deletion utility

Alright, I'm on the virge of finishing up repairing a machine that was set up on a cable modem with a public ip address, no firewall, and only SP1 installed. 🙂

I've got it almost all fixed now, all except for the recycle bin. Early on trying to clean it up, scans were getting tied up forever in the IE cache files, which between all the users was over a million files! When deleting the files, once in a while I'd run into a file that XP said "cannot find specified file", and now a couple of those lost files have found their way into the recycle bin, so I can no longer clear out the recycle bin as it again says on a couple items that it cannot find the file.

ERD Commander is ineffective in removing these files in the recycling bin. Anything else I can try?

Recently developed a problem with PowerArchiver when extracting zips into a new folder, it started creating two folders, one empty and one with contents in which the folder "doesn't" exist. Two folders same name, within the same directory ...one undeletable, "Can't read from source file or disk".

Tried everything booting into safe mode, check disk, fix disk, command prompt deletion, stopped processes including explorer.exe and one program called "Move on Boot" that did not work in this instance. Finally, found this one and it recognized the folder as not having been locked by anything, but offered to delete it just the same and did!!! I mean nothing else worked. I'd run into system controlled by-products that you could assume ownership and deal with and the AVI file deletion problem. This problem was totally new for me, the folder didn't exist, yet I could create shortcuts to it and it could hold files, under properties it only had two tabs: General and Customize ...no Sharing or Security tabs ...no advanced tab options. The program I found that worked was UNLOCKER 1.7.7
