I'm looking to replace our current carousel CD changer for an MP3 player to use for my phone system's on hold music.

Can anyone recommend a decent unit that has a wall plug, so that it can be left running 24/7?

I think this meets all your specs - a computer is used to load the MP3 files, but thereafter not needed to function with a business phone system.
