PowerDvd: sound stutters

I got an Audigy since I couldn't get my SbLive! and DTT2500 speakers working with PowerDvd 3.0 (my old mpeg-card died a while ago). Now it works and I have 5.1 sound (Audigy has ac3-decoding disabeled so the decoder in the amplifier decodes the surround-signal), but it stutters all the time! Half the time it plays well the other half it seem to run just a bit too fast so it stutters although PowerDvd says that it runs 1x.
Anybody have any idea how to make it run acceptably?

Try to enable DMA mode for your dvd-drive ?!

Is enabled, I know that enabling the dma helps, is done on all drives. It worked fine when I had a mpeg-card.

I use the spdif-out btw.

Tried with many dvd's now, it's the same problem with all of 'em. They are played at abot twice the normal speed most of the time, it plays at normal speed sometimes but then returns to running too fast. It says that it runs 1x all the time though.
