Hi all,

I have a small LAN at home and have my server connected to my TV so I can watch movies on there. I am running WIN2k Server on the server and I also use Terminal Services and when I try and run PowerDVD I get some error message "PowerDVD is running thru Remote Terminal Services, Media content playback will be prohibited". How can I get around this?

I have also tried WinDVD 3.1 & 4 and for some reason no matter what resolution & colour depth I set I always get told "Create Overlay failed. Please lower your screen resolution or color depth and try again".

Can anyone help me out - I'm getting quite annoyed now as I can get both to work on my other machine but that doesnt have a TV out!! :S

Thanks In Advance.

Uninstall Terminal Services or use a different computer. Do you have an ATI graphics card? The video overlay will not work with Terminal Services installed. And you need the video overlay to watch DVD's. ATI link describing problem

excerpt: "By design, Microsoft Terminal Services disables all audio redirection when installed. Any services or devices that redirect audio will fail to load under these conditions. The ATI WDM audio devices are used by the ATI TV Player to redirect audio. These required devices will fail to load if Terminal Services are installed."
