PowerDVD 5 Volume

duhh

OK, powerdvd has a hard time with certain DVDs, making the audio almost inaudible. I have tried all of the obvious settings, volume, compression, etc.
I recently decided I would try to use AC3fliter to do some post processing if you will, but I can't seem to get it to do anything with PowerDVD... In theory all I should have to do is set the boost and run with it...

Antoher trick I saw was there were some reg hacks for powerdvd4, which dont work in 5. Im wondering if anyone has stumbled across some new ones.

Im using a laptop, the speakers/headphones are at their max volume and you can barely hear normal conversations. Its not a problem with the laptop as powerdvd and zoomplayer can make your ears bleed.
Another suggestion I often hear is to update my audio drives, theyre updated, as previously referenced, the problem is secific to powerdvd, not audio output in general.
If your suggestion is to use another player, dont post it. Im not an idiot, I know there are other players available.

I've been using PowerDVD 5 on my Latitude CPx for a while now. Under the PowerDVD 5 configuration>audio>advanced>misc. I set it to noisy environment which is recommended for notebook users. Also under the audio tab I set it to 2 speakers. Under the windows control panel>sounds and audio make sure you have the speakers set to laptop stereo.

Yeah, I did the noisy environment thing, thats compression. All audio settings are optimized for making it loud, powerdvd is just poop with some titles. Ive got a copy of windvd, so i guess I will resort to watching my quiet tunes in there...

And yeh, powerdvd is newest release
