Im looking to buy two PowerColor X850XT but I've been searching everywhere and cant find one for a reasonable price.

What I am doing is, I am using my credit card to buy from a site and it gets shipped to my mate in America then he sends it to me in australia.

I want to buy it from $400-500 and the site needs to accept international credit cards.

Also It has to be reliable, because when I baught my headphones in was a BIG hassle.

I would recomend newegg.com. I'd have to advise against powercolor as that particular brand costs more. If you want an oem card (shorter warranty, simpler packaging) get this sapphire for 455. If you want reatail, get the retail saphir for 480. Sahpire is a good brand, they make all of the "built by ati" cards for ati. Here's the page with all of the x850xt's. Powercolor is ok, but the card will not be different than the sapphire. Text

No reason to get 2 X850XTs if you just want more displays. Only one can be 3d HW accellerated at once anyway.

An X850XT and X300 or 6200 Turbocache would be fine.

When I baught my 9600XT awhile ago my mate said powercolor is what I should get, so I thaught it was a good brand. I heard somewhere It didn't exactly matter what brand it is because they have relivly the same specifications. Anyway, Newegg, What happened was, I went to the shipping and billing adress page and for the billing information there is "Country" There was no Australia, and I dont think they accept International credit cards.

Do you mean $400-500 each or for both cards?

For one card.

Im building a gaming computer.

Hmm, I was just scrolling through the cards and I saw that the Connect3D X850XT has a clock speed at 540Mhz and its $449

Um, that still did'nt answer my question. But it seems poinless to get two.

Well one card renders half of the screen and the other the other half, boosting fps?

Thats not the major problem though, its the place im buying from. I did this with amazon and it worked fine, I paid for it and my mate got it.

Please I've assembled my computer and set everything up, I just can run it without a video card and I can't do much on this laptop.

If you're looking to run two video cards in SLI, you need to get a Nvidia card. None of the ATI's will run in SLI.

You are talking about SLI which only works on NVIDIA video cards.

So just buy ONE X850XT.

Believe me, if you could run 2, there would be half a million people already doing. If your not seeing it being done, most likely its not possible to be done.
Its probably possible to run 2 just for more monitors, but so could a PCI card for 20 dollars.

Or if you want to run dual video cards buy (2) Geforce 6800 Ultra/GT.

You are looking for nVidea and that would be 2x 6800GT or 2x 6800 Ultra if you want to run 2 gpu for "2x" the performance.

Are you serious? Damn, well. What would be better, two 6800U or one x850xt?

Do you think ati will make sli aswell?

From a performance aspect, obviously two 6800U runningin SLi will out perform a single X850XT.
This is of course assuming money is not an object. Seeing that you are willing to spend upwards of $500 per card, I don't see whats to stop you.

Ok, I've been doing a bit more reasearched before the final final decision.

Do you think that my ASUS A8N DELUX SLI mobo will run good with the two BFG 6800U's?

I think If maybe I get a X850XT It will be good for the time being but two BFG 6800U is more, "Future Proof" If you know what I mean.

So basically Im asking is, Is SLI worth it and if it is, will my mobo run well with my card?

I really want to be sure because I dont want to blow money..

Read this review. Compares 2x6800 Ultras with x850 xt pe (I think about 3-5% faster than x850 xt) in addition to many other cards.

http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/video/display/gf6800u-sli.html

You also need to factor in additional noise and heat. But you will have the fastest solution out. Weigh your options and see what fits best for you.

Mass that review was extremely helpful. Thank you.

I looked through the benchmarks and the multi gpu rendering was basically useless.

A single 6800U could outperform Sli in some parts.

Maybe SLi isnt exactly worth it. I mean, maybe an X850XT could be better alone.

OR maybe SLi is too.."advanced" with multi GPU rendering (Most games don't support) and when the next generation games come out the SLi will beat all other cards.

Im just so confused, I really dont know which one to pick. I've gone back and forth and back and forth...

Then again If you overclock the 6800U to meet the x850xt

Ugh, More problems. Again looking for information. Would my mobo run with a x850xt?

SLi is totally not worth it. One ultra is good, but one x850xt is better.

Whats a good mobo for an x850xt? Is the mobo I currently have good for it?
