Download and install Powerstrip. Powerstrip will show you what the default speeds are of your card. 325/300 = Pro, 275/270 = NP. I've found that with Powercolor cards, it's probably going to be somewhere inbetween. For some reason they seem to clock their cards at whatever speeds they feel like it.

That is the PowerColor 9700 "pro" OEM. It is NOT a pro card and should not be sold as a pro.
Who did you get it from? If they sold it to you as a pro card, and if you really want a pro card, send it back and tell them to try their tricks elsewhere.

Look at your ram. If you have Infineon 3.6 or Hylinks(? - something like that) than you did not get a pro card. The PowerColor OEM clocks at that very speed and I doubt your going to get pro speeds out of it. Who was the company that sold you this card?

I got that card for $275 from Googlegear..... thought I was getting a really good deal on a "pro" card. The link for the card specs pointed right to the retail card that does have the correct pro clock speeds. When I got the card, dl'd PowerStrip, and found that I the clock speeds you described. I emailed PowerColor who wrote back that it was a 9700 pro spec card but with weaker ram. It was their "Lite Pro". Googlegear refunded me for the card without charging a restock fee. Immediately, Googlegear start plastering their product page with a description of the core speed at 300 (not quite, it's 297 but close enough) but still linked to the wrong product specs so people thought they were actually getting a pro card. I went to NewEgg and got a refurbed Saphire 9700 pro that works great.

FTI, huh? When I did a little investigating on PriceWatch to see who was selling this "Lite Pro" and was being honest about it's clock speeds, they were one company that didn't even try to give a hint as to the true nature of the ram.
They don't have that great of a reseller rating from what I see.

Wow, Powercolor seems pretty shady. I just got my Powercolor 9700 non Pro yesterday, and Powerstrip says it has a engine clock of 324 MHz and a memory clock of 297 MHz. That's higher than it is supposed to be.

Get my money back with out going to jail!!?? No man, no video card is worth going to jail over. I confronted Googlegear about the bit of deception they played with the product link and they gave me full refund. I don't know what kind of luck you'll have with FTI but they should be called to the mat for selling this as a "pro" card.
