Since I have a watercooling loop I was thinking of upgrading my 8800 GTS 640MB to this card.

http://www.powercolor.com/Global/products_features.asp?ProductID=6610

I't especially interesting because it already has a water block on it and I can get it for ~430€ from Germany. Trust me, this is really cheap. Here in Slovenia the cheapest 5870 is ~380€ and they all have hair dryers... A water block is another 85€ not to mention possible warranty issues if I replaced the original POS with a water block.

However, I don't like how I can't get ANY information on warranty, either from Powercolor site nor from any german retailer. Newegg says 2 years limited parts & labor.

Will I shoot myself in the foot if I go ahead and buy it?

FWIW, I have had good luck with powercolor over the years. They offer unique cooling solutions, like their SCS(silent cooling) are good options for quiet pc's. Since this comes with a factory waterblock, it seems like a great option for your needs.

I've had the card for two weeks now and I haven't had any problems. It comes with the back plate too. The 2 year warranty isn't bad but they do take about 3 weeks to turn around on an RMA. They've always been prompt in responding to me though.

Thanks for info, guys.
Card ordered. :) (drooling)

I just checked out the country you live in on Wiki. What are you doing playing games? I'd be out enjoying that amazing scenery all the time. :p

Anyway, enjoy your new card. I think at this point most (all?) of the 5870 cards are made by the same manufacturer. The other companies just slap their cooler on it if they want. I'm sure we'll see non-reference stuff, but I think at this point they're pretty well all made by one manufacturer. At least that's what I've heard on these forums.

Hey, if you're looking at such beautiful scenery every day, it becomes a routine. Mountaineering helps though :D
Besides, it's raining ATM. Visibility less than 1km and I'm in Ljubljana (capital) today to make things even worse ;)

As for the card, I'm hoping it will get here soon. The shop isn't the clearest about when it will be shipped. Wasn't on stock when I ordered, but they said it should be in by today...

Just dealing with an RMA to Powercolor now. :( They are sure not like BFG or MSI in terms of speed and answers to e-mails. Even charge $12 to setup the RMA and no cross shipping or free return shipping. I guess maybe those days are gone but still is upsetting for the price you pay to have to wait so long for a replacement.................
Also the way it was packaged back to me was not good at all, first RMA was bent and did not work so I am waiting on my second one and hope its better.
But Hugo is the one you would need to talk to. Just hope you do not need an RMA.
Well good luck!
