It's a decent buy at at $90. It's roughly as fast as the 260x which can be had for as low as $120-130. I'd rather not have to worry about the rebate and get the better power usage/heat output/noise characteristics with a 260x/265/270/750ti.

R9 270/X obsoletes it with much better perf/watt; don't buy at that price unless you have pretty cheap electricity as the power differential alone is worth a small premium. And the 270's can overclock to the moon if they are anything like HD7850's.

GTX 750 Ti is even better but good luck finding it at a good price.

Just to add to the above, I certainly wouldn't suggest buying a 6000 series card now unless you only intend to use it for a short period of time. The 6970 doesn't support Mantle, it won't support DirectX 12, and its VLIW4 architecture clearly isn't AMD's driver optimization focus right now. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if AMD moved it to legacy status by the end of 2015 so that they can focus exclusively on GCN (the oldest of which would be turning 4 years old).

In other words, it's not a card with much of a future left before it.

FYI, the 270 is an underclocked 270X/7870 with a single power connector. The 265 is the 7850 rebrand.

Oops, thanks, I thought the 270 was the 7850 analog, sorry. A HD7850 by any name overclocks to stock 7870 or 270X speeds, though. :D
