Wow great deal .. just checked resellerratings.com on this company and well the reviews weren't so great about the company or about the exact alot of ppl have bought from them. These may not be the actually 9700 Pro as you would expect so it maybe a YMMV. All the complaints have been consistent about these cards as not being the actually 9700 Pros.

Pulled from the ResellerRatings.com website on this company: Click Here

Quotes:
"I bought a Powercolor 9700 Pro video card. When I got it I realized it wasn't what I had expected. Instead of samsung 2.8ns memory it had InFineon 3.6 memory. Instead of clock speed of 325/640 it was 297/568 and much slower than a regular card by ATI.
The way this card is being marketed is very misleading and in my opinion should be stopped! I'm not a happy camper at all you may say!!! I see lots of other posts from people that got burnt from them too!!"

"Bought a 9700 Pro card (Or so I thought). Card that came in was a 9700 with 3.6 ns memory (not the Pro version). Called to return item; wants 15% restocking fee. Will not buy from again. EVER!"

"I ordered a "PC ATI Radeon 9700 Pro 128MB OEM" for $287 off Game VE's website on 12/19. I didn't realize at the time that the "PC" stood for Powercolor, I thought it was an ATI brand card. It just so happens a friend of mine went through this same deal with another company at www.pcpart4less.com so I was specifically not wanting a Powercolor card. The reason is the Powercolor is not a Pro card. It is clocked at 300 core and 265 memory. It is equipped with Infineon memory (looks like 3.6ns) instead of the Samsung 2.8ns. So I called and they said I could return it for a refund and to just order the ATI one instead. So I got an RMA for the Powercolor card and ordered an "ATI RADEON 9700 PRO 128MB OEM" for $308. Guess what I got in the mail? The exact same Powercolor card as before but for $21 more. I'm pissed. Fortunately I had a friend that didn't care that the card was slower who bought it off me so I didn't have to deal with a second RMA. I went to CompUSA instead and picked up a retail 9700 Pro for $349. Advertising these cards as 9700 Pro's is a lie and deceitful. Stay away from this company and the one mentioned above who sell these as Pro cards."

Pls be aware of this when buying ...

Has anyone bought one of these and actually got a 9700 Pro ?

What's not clear? It is a PowerColor Radeon 9700 Pro.

So in conclusion, PowerColor Radeon 9700 Pro = regular/OEM Radeon 9700 ???
hmm sound like a recipe for class-action lawsuit... unless of course it's covered by their disclaimer :)

The Bios is easily update to allow Pro speed, and you end up with a 9700 Pro for $100 less. Check the Video board here and at other enthusiast sites..

elaborate a little more on the bios upgrade pls? I haven't heard about it.

from the reseller ratings it sounds clear that they ADVERTISE A 9700 pro, and give a 9700, at least more than once...if i was lookign one id go to newegg or the fs/t forum here, bah to liars.

thanks for the info...

I think I will wait till the 9700 drops in price or when the 9500 pro becomes easier to oc before I take the plunge.... or maybe even r350! I am going to give the gf fx a miss this time..

Not quite as good of a deal at $275 at Googlegear. But they do have a better much better rating. Personally I'm waiting till the GF-fx hits the streets hoping the 9700pro prices will drop.

I don't think the 9700 prices will drop because of the FX . . . . NO reason for ATI to discount further.

HOWEVER, the 9800 (R350 - refresh of the 9700) should be out in March (the GF-FX "killer") . . . THAT will be reason for ATI to discount the older 9700Pro.
