lookin to see what kind of battery life you all are getting on your 12 and 15 inch PBs (lookin mainly for responses from G4 1 ghz and faster owners, i wouldnt really consider anything slower than that)

I can pull maybe 3 hours with Airport off and brightness medium doing word processing, etc. on my PowerBook 15" 1.67GHz. Probably about 2:30 with AirPort on surfing the net with same conditions for brightness. Battery life is weak with the 15" model, IMO, as it uses the same battery as the 12". The 17" has a much larger battery then both the 15" and the 12".

You can get aftermarket high capacity batteries that will give you some serious battery life. I know you aren't interested in older stuff but I have a five year old Powerbook G3 that gets 7-8 hours of normal use on a single Newer tech aftermarket battery.

12", 1.5GHz with airport, bluetooth, full brightness, "reduced" processor performance, while playing a DVD...machine estimates 2:50 with a nearly-new battery. I'd guess about 2:20 or so.

I was getting 3.5 hours, airport and bt off, screen brightness at full.

Same here on a 12" 1.33 PB

I get about 2.0-2.5 hrs with a 12" 1.33 PB with airport on, surfing and such.
