So... I can't tell if I'm making this up, or I actually saw it... but I could have sworn I saw a picture of an Apple laptop (don't know if it was a PowerBook or an iBook) that had been modded with a picture of Tux instead of the Apple logo. I've been searching for about thirty minutes and haven't found anything yet.

Anyone else remember this? Anyone know of a company or person that does this? Am I making it up?

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks. ;-)

By Tux do you mean the tux-wearing penguin as in Linux?

Well - apparently Apple notebooks can and do wear tuxes. :)

yeah... i'm planning on installing linux on the powerbook (if i end up ordering one)... the one thing i'm worried about is 802.11g support. i know the airport extreme card doesn't work... but it appears to be mini-pci, so shouldn't there be a non-apple mini-pci that works? the 12" powerbook doesn't have a pcmcia slot, so 802.11g cards of that type are out of the question. :(

i think i may just put a big gentoo sticker over the apple logo.

whats the point of putting linux on a 12" powerbook? the only reason to get a powerbook is to run OSX. Mite as well get a x86 12" laptop and run linux on that.

i think i've seen what you are talking about, but the case is not cheap, and its difficult to take apart.

This whole not using commercial software is stupid in my eyes, but if people want to run linux on a mac, let them waste their time and money.
