Power Windows falling "off track" can I fix this?

Is this something easy to fix? The windows will go down, then you hear a clunk and then the windows no longer work. Can I fix this myself with relative ease?

EDIT: How to explain this better, windows go down, but will not go up without physically pulling the window up by hand. I can hear the motor moving, but the window doesn't move. When I pull the window back up by hand, I can push the down button and the window will go down like normal, but when I push the button to have the window go up, there is a "clunk" noise sounding as if the window fell off track. The motor continues to go until it were to roll the window up all the way.

ty...that was what was needed...I believe these use what's known as "tape" for the actual movement up/down (the tape is sold by the dealership parts dept either specific to your model or by the foot/roll) ..the tape has holes/perfed for the mechanism(actual motor) to "roll" up/down on ..this is most likely the trouble..i.e. holes elongated/ripped open allowing the "drop"gl alm99 🙂if you plan on keeping the car for another 2 yrs or more I'd suggest getting a factory service manual from Helm

Dunno about yours specifically, but generally there's a clip of some kind at the bottom of the window. If that comes loose from the glass, then the glass is just setting on top of it and when you roll the window down you can have it fall off the clip.

Take the door panel off. You should immediately see the problem. Most of the clips I've seen are a piece of bent sheet metal with some glue to hold the glass in place. If the glass is out of the clip, or sliding around in it, you will have this problem.

Now, you can't just glue it back. You have to make sure it's aligned properly... Stick it back in and roll it all the way up. Wiggle the glass and the clip to make sure it's seated and not stressed in any one direction. THEN glue it. (You may have to mark the position of the clip on the glass and then roll it back down some to get the glue in there...)

Good luck!
