My power window took a dump on me. Can anyone recommend a place where I can take it besides the dealership (out of warranty)?

I'm going to take a shot in the dark here. How about a mechanic?

Take it to a auto glass shop. You auto insurance could recommend one if you do not wish to use the phone book.

The word broke could be a $25 put something back that popped loose item to a replacement for the regulator $200 or more depending on vehicle.

Some items can be obtained immediately or you can obtain them from a recycler (local or internet).

Yeah, it depends on what you mean by "broke." If it's still in track but just won't power up/down but all the other windows do, it's likely that something may have just come loose. Or the motor could have crapped out. Stay away from the dealership though. I'd just ask friends/coworkers if they know of a small, but honest repair place.

FYI: Replacing the regulator/tracking is pretty easy. The left rear window on my Nissan went out a couple years ago. I bought an aftermarket replacement kit on Ebay for $25. It was brand new, had the full tracking kit and regulator. After Googling for some instructions (there are lots of detailed tips online), I manage to install the new system in less than an hour. Works great now. The Nissan place quoted me $410 to do the exact same thing I did for $25.
