Power went off...now it won't boot into windows XP pro

It boots to where it says wndows xp professional and the bar is going back and forth.

Then it comes onto a blue screen and says "unmountable boot volume"

Can I repair this? Without a Windows XP pro disk? The computer is somewhere else. Trying to do it over the phone.

As they say at the bottom of that link, you'll have to use the XP Pro floppy install disks to access the recovery console. You'll need 6 floppies. Press 'R" to access the recovery console at the "Welcome to WinXP setup" screen.

Can you burn the 6 floppies to one cd using a different directory for each floppy?

I really doubt that that will be repairable... a rule of thumb for me is that if something broke from non-software causes, no software fix will help it...

Made the 6 floppies, booted into XP...ran chkdsk /p and fixboot and i'll be damned... it fixed it....
