power up listings

When I power up, I no longer get the list of my IDE devices. I am pretty sure they used to be there, is there any way to turn that off that i might have done by accident? Instead of listing all that and then listing all the drives, memory slots etc, it just jumps to windows. I really like to see that stuff from time to time. I have an ASUS K7V, with an ath slot a 700 384 MB ram and 4 IDE devices..... Any help with greatly be appreciated

Depending on your BIOS there are usually settings that will either detect every IDE component every time you boot up, listing all the devices as you mentioned, or will store all the settings in advance so it doesn't have to detect them every time. Sounds like you are in store in advance-mode. This is actually preferable because your boot-up time should be a little faster. But if you really want to see everything every time go into the bios and in the first screen where it lists your IDE components just set all of them to "auto" or "auto-detect." My opinion though is leave well enough alone.
