power supply

I recently replaced my power supply, the power comes and it acts as if it is loading, but the monitor screen goes black and the keyboard lights are all dim and doesn't acknowledge the numlock key when pressed. I tried removing the video card but this did not work. What could be my problem?🙁

Can you give me some more info? What motherboard, what brand of powersupply?

If its Pent 4 motherboard, did you plug in the 2nd powersupply molex.

Did you try to powerup with only the bare requirements: video card, cpu, and RAM. No power connections to the hardrive, floppy, CD-rom etc.

Was the system working fine before with the old powersupply? Can you plug in the old powersupply to test?

It is an Aopen power supply 115/230 watts. It is a pentium 233. And yes I tried all of these things. I was thinking maybe the motherboard went bad when the power supply went out.
