power supply with long cables for a lian li v2000 case

so i decided to go all out and get a v2000 lian li case. its gonna be a huge fing case i know... and my main problem is that i'm more than likely going to go with a DFI board in it that requires a 480 watt power supply w/ 24 pin connector native. i know that PCP&C and Seasonic is good but are the cables included long enough for a 2 foot high, 2 foot deep case?!?! I also don't want to spend alot if i don't have to so PCP&C is out. (just to remind you all, the cables need to be longer than 24" in most cases cause the cables will probably be at different angles... ect.). My current choice is this psu from OCZ cause it has 28a over the 12v line which is good in the future for the 7800gtx as opposed to seasonic's 18a or so over the 12v line:

Anyone know if the cables will be long enough for the case i'm putting it in? If not is seasonic's cables long enough?

The Coolermaster RealPower 450W has 23" power cables, the 500W version is probably just as long. Also the Antec Truepower2.0 and Smartpower 2.0 series have cables long enough for the Antec P180 case, so they may also suit this LianLi.

You can also easily buy extenders for any type of cable there is... And then you could even use heatshrink to make it permanent (and nice looking too).

Most Zippys have server length cables (read my review of th 6460 here: http://www.techimo.com/reviews/ ) . And I'd prefer the Sparkle version of the FSP550, to wit... FSP550-60PLG (can be had for around $85.+sh per froogle) - because of its single 12V rail, much more flexible than the split rail (PLN) version. The 550-PLG is the best $85 you can spend on a PSU today, IMO.

hm i thought having 2 12V rails was good.. no? isn't that the spec for ATX 2.0 for there to be 2 12v rails? thats why i was going to pick up the ocz even though it only has 2 sata hard drive connectors (if i need more i can convert the others ... i know about that) and i'm still not sure on the length of the cables yet with the ocz. that and the ocz has 28a on the 12v line (good enough to run a 7800gtx if i wanted).
 
Actually the 680Ws have 38A on their three 12V rails.

I'm pretty sure the 560W and the 420W will reach through that case too.

You're right, it's in the ATX2.- spec that you need two 12V rails.
 
Anything that uses +12 in a computer either regultates it down and refilters it locally (mobo, vid card, etc.) or runs off a servo (drive motors) so any argument (other than safety) for split rails is baseless. And if you don't make a practice of holding the 12V leads of your PSU while standing in a tub of water, even the safety argument (over 20A available on the +12 can be lethal to the stupid or careless) fails the wimp test.
. You can make full use of the Amps available on a single rail with commonly available adapters, while on a split rail you often can't due to limited types of connectors on one rail or another. And to adapt it would require a very unusual adapter or you'd have to roll your own. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
. The Sparkle 550 I mentioned above is a good case in point or the new version of the Zippy HP-6460 with the power shifted to the +12 side is frabjous too.

any of the ones you mentioned allow you to regulate the voltage going through the lines? ie as the PCP&C and OCZ allow you to do?
 
That is one of the few cases where something like that may be worthwhile. I think the Zippys have internal pots that aren't generally user accessible... Tweak at your own risk and voidage of the warranty.

aright then ocz, one of those zippys (look really good) or something similar it is then... thanks for the input everyone.... just one last thing. with the dfi i don't plan on going much above 3.3 (ie i'll use the tweak to get up to 3.5-3.6 but won't move the jumper over to 5volts). do i still need one with voltage adjustments if i don't do 5volts? i know the answer is probably yes on that one... but what if i don't go above 3.2 or 3.3? no right?
