would a 420 watt ps work with this card? or do i need to step up to 480? Im only running 1 hard drive, 2 fans and a dvd drive.

 
screw wattage. open case and look at the amps on the +3.3, +5, +12v rails and the brand. Watt rating is wildly inaccurate between brands(a 500w thermaltake ~= to a 350w fsp)
