I'm looking for a PSU with +25V or some kind of adapter to get that voltage on a regular ATX power supply, if possible. I have a Macintosh G4 for which I don't want to buy an expensive replacement unit. Any ideas?

What about 24v? Mod a -12 to a +12V maybe? I don't know if you could do that, or if it would work to power a machine...

I'd give it a try. Any idea on what the part I need is called, maybe a voltage doubler or something?

Using the -12 v instead of ground would give you a 24 volt difference but I'm not sure that would work for something as complicated as a mac motherboard. Additionally the -12 volt on an atx power supply typically has next to nothing for actual power it's able to produce. Maybe 1 or 2 amps at most. That would work for lamp or a fan that wanted 24 volt but once again doubt it's gonna work for a motherboard.

No, don't use -12 and +12 on a standard ATX PSU! For a fan or other low current device that might be OK. But for something like a mobo, the amperages would have to be balanced. What the heck in their systems actually needs 25V anyway?
